Watch A Day In Ghana With Kendrick Lamar - Spotify Mini-Documentary

Spotify drops the new Kendrick Lamar documentary.

To Celebrate Kendrick Lamar’s 35th Birthday, Spotify dropped a short documentary which was shot during his recent visit to Ghana. “A Day in Ghana with Kendrick Lamar” is a four-minute film, the Compton rapper interacts with the locals, plays a game of soccer/football, poses for pictures and more.

The rapper was accompanied by his longtime manager and pgLang co-founder Dave Free, and they also made a visit to Freedom Skate park, which the late Virgil Abloh helped fund. “[I’ve been thinking about] Virgil, what he means to them as far as letting them have this creative space for them to enjoy themselves,” he said. “That’s special.”

Kendrick Lamar faced backlash because of listing Kodak Black on his album. Click here to know the whole story.

The rapper also talked about his latest album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers“, which he called his “most present” body of work. “One of my favourite lines on the album is where Whit[ney] says, ‘You really need to go therapy’ and I say, ‘Real ni**as don’t go to therapy,’” the rapper tells Spotify’s Head of Urban Music Carl Chery. “Because that’s how ni**as feel! We grew up where our parents don’t know about that, our grandparents don’t know about that. You live and you experience the sh*t that you go through and you deal with it right then and there… or you don’t never deal with it.”

Here’s how we felt about Kendrick Lamar’s new album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Click to know the whole review.

“We learn to hold all our sh*t in. Sh*t, I’ma keep it one hundred with you: that wasn’t my forte when people mentioned it to me. I’m still stuck how my pops thinks: ‘the f**k you need therapy for?’ I had to challenge myself to go to therapy. Sh*t, that’s like a whole new step and a whole new generation. It’s a growth.”

“Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” made the year’s largest No. 1 debut. Following the release of the album, Lamar released a video for “N95.” In addition, before of the LP, Lamar released “The Heart Part 5,” which featured an eerie deepfake video.

Lamar will co-headline Rolling Loud Miami with Kanye West and Future next month. In the same month, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers will embark on a tour with other pgLang talents Baby Keem and Tanna Leone, who also participate on the album.
