Charlamagne Tha God says Kanye West’s beef with Pete Davidson is the main reason.
Kanye West’s public spat with Pete Davidson over the Saturday Night Live comedian’s relationship with ex-wife Kim Kardashian exploded over the weekend after Kanye accused Davidson in an Instagram video of “antagonising” him through text.
Charlamagne Tha God, host of The Breakfast Club, began the Monday programme by naming Kanye West “the Donkey of the Day, for Monday, March 14,” before adding, “this is all coming from a place of love.”
According to the leaked text exchange, an enraged “Skete” tells the Chicago rap legend to “cool down” and “grow the f**k up.” When Ye responds, “Oh, you’re using profanity? “Where are you right now?” Davidson says, “In bed with your wife,” which is followed by a shot of him throwing up a peace sign to the camera while lying in bed.
Ye has been under fire from a variety of celebrities and fans when he turned to social media in now-deleted messages complaining about his daughter, North West, and her TikTok performances.
According to Charlamagne, though, Pete Davidson is rubbing Kanye West the wrong way for an even greater reason. The Breakfast Club co-host claimed Kanye called him last November — the same month Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson reportedly started dating — and confided some private information about his wife’s new boyfriend to him while awarding the G.O.O.D. Music founder “Donkey of the Day” on Monday (March 14).
“Speaking of big egos, Kanye West, remember when you called me last November and we were yelling and screaming at each other?” Charlamagne said as Beyoncé’s “Ego” instrumental played in the background. “You told me what you really mad about, king! You told me what is really bothering you in this situation! This is why it’s hard to take you serious when I see you rant!
“You know I know! You can fool people on social media, you can fool the general public, but you know I know. Let’s just leave it at that for now… Unless, Kanye, you want me to say more? Personally, I’ma just send you some healing energy.”
Dropping an even less subtle hint about what’s been “bothering” Kanye, Charlamagne Tha God then let Beyoncé’s “Ego” vocals back in as she sang, “It’s too big! It’s too wide! It’s too strong!”

In another segment of his “Donkey of the Day,” Charlamagne Tha God chastised Kanye West for his repeated attacks on Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, his feud with comedian D.L. Hughley, and his hypocrisy in calling people “pawns” for the Democratic Party while allegedly being used by Republicans himself.
“You have more bad effect on people than TikTok will ever have,” Charlamagne said, agreeing with Kanye’s claim that his eight-year-old daughter North West shouldn’t be allowed on TikTok. Is Kanye West’s portrayal of his ex-murder, wife’s boyfriend’s decapitation, and burial in a music video a good image?”
