Busta Rhymes says 5 rappers turned down Verzuz Battle offer.
Before the battle between Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One this past weekend, Busta Rhymes was one of the performers at the VERZUZ concert where he asked the creators for a worthy opponent to go up against him. Busta Rhymes, who was called “Hip-Hop’s best performer” by The Lox, is one name that no one wants to mess with at a VERZUZ event. Now it is revealed that as many as 5 rappers turned down offer to go one on one against him.
Busta was present at BDK vs KRS battle at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, where he was joined by Bronx’s B-Boy Crazy Legs in the audience. “I had to let @bustarhymes know that no one is worthy enough to battle him. Then he told me that 5 people already turned it down. Some things are just what they are. He has the unfortunate pleasure of being a god in the rap game,” wrote Crazy Legs.

The names of the rappers were not revealed, but one of them could be T.I., who declined to battle Busta last year. The 49-year-old previously mentioned some potential VERZUZ opponents, which includes legends like Eminem, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne. “I don’t want to do no corny Verzuz,” said Busta. “I wouldn’t do one with anyone whose catalog isn’t crazy. I would love to do a Verzuz with somebody I’m a fan of, I would love to do a Verzuz battle with Eminem, I would love to do a Verzuz with Lil Wayne. I would love to do a Verzuz with Hov. I wouldn’t mind doing a Verzuz against two artists at the same time. I actually presented that before T.I. started talking all that.”
Recently, Fat Joe also claimed that everyone is scared to battle Busta Rhymes, including Fat Joe himself. “Busta Rhymes has a problem with a Verzuz. Fat Joe scared to do Verzuz against Busta Rhymes and so is everybody else,” he said. “You gotta understand, sometimes you ever notice, you see boxers and they knock everybody out? People be scared to fight those boxers. Busta Rhymes is gonna out-rap, out-perform anybody who goes up in the Verzuz with him. That’s a fact.”
“Yo, Busta Rhymes nobody wanna get in there with you, man,” he went on. “You might have to be an honorary — they gotta give you the check for no reason.” Given the difficulty in locating a challenger, the Brooklyn native is ready to compete. As Supacat and company performed at the Barclays Center on Saturday (Oct. 16), Busta grabbed the stage with a simple request: “Find me a deserving Verzuz opponent.”
Fat Joe reportedly compared Busta Rhymes to a fighter who could “knock everyone out.“People be scared to fight those boxers. Busta Rhymes is gonna out-rap, out-perform anybody that goes up in the VERZUZ with him. That’s a fact!” It remains to be seen who will be the brave soul that will take on Busta in a VERZUZ rap battle, but as of now, there does not appear to be any takers.
Who do you think has the capability to go up against the East Flatbush rapper?
