Busta Rhymes Names his current favorite MCs.
The legendary Busta Rhymes recently sat down with Nevuary Rap Radio for a new interview where he was asked about his current favorite Rappers.
“My new artists, my new MC that motivates me a lot,” says Busta. “My number 1 is Kendrick Lamar, my number 2 is J. Cole, number 3 is Roc Marciano, number 4 is Stove God Cooks, number 5 I would say, Lil Baby, number 6 Royce da 5’9″. This is no particular order. Who’s coming to mind I’m just saying. I’m gonna pick four more so I can make a solid Top 10.” Then he names Dave East, Roddy Ricch, Drake and Pop Smoke in his final 4.
Busta Rhymes just released Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, a follow-up to his hit album. Busta claims he reduced the final tracklist down from around 850 tracks, so it’s an ambitious release.
He went on to say that his top three choices are Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z, but he’s open to taking on two artists at once. Back in high school, when the two attended George Westinghouse Career And Technical Education High School in Brooklyn, Busta had previously battled (and sadly lost to) Hov in rap battles. He’s now prepared for their long-awaited showdown.
