Busta Rhymes shows respect to fellow lyrical icon Eminem.
Eminem became part of the historical halftime show at the Super Bowl LVI where the rapper performed with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige. The Detroit Rapper performed his classic “Lose Yourself” at the event, followed by making headlines for taking a knee after his performance.
The full house SoFi Stadium had a star-studded crowd, with so many fellow musicians, attended the show. Busta Rhymes was also at the Super Bowl enjoying the game and halftime show, and also caught up with his “Calm Down” collaborator Eminem. The rapper showed praise for Eminem’s performance, and also congratulated him for recently getting nominated in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Em is joined in the 2022 nominations class by A Tribe Called Quest, Beck, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and Carly Simon, all of whom are first-time nominees. Rage Against the Machine, Dionne Warwick, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, DEVO, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, MC5, and the New York Dolls are all in the running for inclusion this year.
“Slim Shady & The [Dragon Emoji], @eminem Legendary Super Bowl 56 performance and Congrats again on the @rockhall induction nomination!! Salute!!,” he wrote. “The Greatest Moment Ever for Every Culture especially ours!!,” he shared after the show.
Last month, there were talks of a potential Verzuz battle between the two rap monsters, as Swizz Beats suggested Busta’s name after Dre asked “Marshall Mathers vs Who?”
