Intruder arrested after breaking into Eminem Detroit Mansion.
According to TMZ, a guy named Matthew David Hughes broke into Eminem‘s Detroit-area home at around 4 AM. The 26-year-old suspect snuck past Eminem security through the back and used a paving stone to smash a kitchen window and climbed inside the Detroit Mansion.
When the intruder entered the house, an alarm went off which woke Eminem up, who found the invader in his living room. After that, the security team came running and grabbed the guy. It seems that the intruder wanted a face-to-face with Em, as it didn’t appear he was trying to steal anything.
According to Adam Hackstock, a Clinton Township police officer, Mathers awoke to a man standing behind him, mistaking him for his nephew before realizing he was an intruder. “When Mr. Mathers asked him why he was there, he was told by Mr. Hughes that he was there to kill him,” officer Adam Hackstock said during a preliminary examination in Macomb County District Court.
Later Matthew was taken into custody by the police and booked on the charges of first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building. Mr. Mathers was not present in court on Wednesday, but his attorney was able to observe the proceedings on video. He is being held on a $50k bond at the Macomb County Jail.
