After a report by TMZ first, People have confirmed that Dr. Dre’s wife Nicole Young has filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage, citing the usually incompatible differences. They married in 1996 and they won’t have to deal with child support as the couple has 2 adult children together, a son named Truice and a daughter named Truly.
According to reports, Nicole seeking spousal support from the legendary producer as they don’t have a prenup. Last year, Forbes estimated Dre’s net worth at $800 million, putting him at number 2 on the year’s list of the world’s wealthiest hip-hop artists. Dr. Dre’s wife works as a lawyer and will be represented in the divorce case by the high-powered celeb attorney, Samantha Spector.
Dr. Dre was admitted to the hospital earlier this year after experiencing signs of a brain aneurysm. He was airlifted to Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was put to the intensive care unit. Dre was photographed at the studio with The D.O.C in front of a mixing board just days after he was released from the hospital. He was said to be working on his rumored album ‘Detox.’
