Boosie Badazz ranks a Drake feature above Jay-Z.
Boosie Badazz was the recent guest on VladTV, and in one of the sessions, they talked about the old and new generations in Hip-Hop, and how the old generation hates on the gen-z and vice versa. The host went on the explain how he gives shout out to younger radio personalities, and they praise him back. “I don’t see how people can’t be happy for ’em unless you not happy in life,” said Boosie.
He continues, “NI**as just gotta stop hating, everybody gets their time to shine. Just like they f**ked up, most of ’em gonna f**k up the same way. When people do that, I think they should just stand up and say, ‘I f**ked up.’ I think it be more on the older guy not having right now to sh*t on the younger artist.”
Vlad then showed some admiration for Jay-Z and how a verse is still one of checklists for rappers from today’s generation. “A Jay-Z feature is still considered one of the most important features you could get,” he said. But according to Badazz, a feature from Drake is more important than a Verse from Hov in the game right now.
When he’s not churning out jaw-dropping rhymes, Hov tells listeners about some of his old buddies, like as how the late Notorious B.I.G. inspired him to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia. “You know Big in like 96, I wanna say, 96, 95, Big was talking about ‘Yo let’s go to Atlanta get two big houses next to each other,’ and I’m looking like Atlanta,” JAY-Z said during a Twitter Spaces conversation. “I’m like, ‘We’re the hottest guys in New York City, like in the world, in the mecca. Why are we going to Atlanta?’”
He added, “If you think about Atlanta and how it is today and how influential Atlanta is, you just see how much of a visionary this guy was, and he was doing Brooklyn Mint clothing line back then, so all the things he was talking about was way ahead of his time.”
