Billboard Snubs Eminem's 'Music To Be Murdered By' in Their Early 2021 GRAMMY AOTY Contenders

Early picks reveal Eminem’s Album snub for GRAMMY 2021 AOTY.

The eligibility period for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards is just five months away and Billboard has revealed the Top contenders for the Album of the year awards at the 2021 Grammys. The early Billboard picks reveal 16 Top contenders for the AOTY which features Post Malone’s last year album ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding‘, The Weeknd’s latest hit album ‘After Hours‘, Lil Uzi Vert’s latest long-awaited ‘Eternal Atake‘, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover’s new album ‘3.15.20, Kanye West’s ‘Jesus is King‘ and more. Surprisingly, there’s no Eminem’s project in the early predictions.

Eminem, whose latest surprise album ‘Music To Be Murdered By‘ debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 and still in the Top 5 albums of 2020. The snub is probably because Eminem’s taking shots at the Grammy Awards on his previous Billboard #1 platinum album ‘Kamikaze‘, which was also not nominated in any category at the Grammys, apart from Joyner Lucas assisted ‘Lucky You‘ which was nominated for Best Rap Song.

This year, Eminem’s album was best-selling in the United States. Music To Be Murdered By, like Kamikaze, debuted in January as a surprise project. The album sold 280,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week of release, debuting at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, thanks to the chart-topping song “Godzilla,” which featured the late Juice WRLD, and “Darkness,” which was one of the biggest storytelling singles of the previous decade.
