ASAP Rocky details new music with Tyler, The Creator.
ASAP Rocky is currently putting together his next studio album, a follow-up to 2018’s third project “Testing“, and the rapper has a lot of new music coming with Tyler, the Creator. The Harlem rapper linked up with Interview Magazine, where he had a conversation with Jerrod Carmichael, who’s on the promo run for his latest stand-up special “Rothaniel”.
Among other topics, Carmichael asked Rocky if he’s recording right now. “You keep asking me mad questions, and I got a million questions for you, but yeah. I’m recording right now,” says ASAP. “What’s sparking you right now?” asks Jerrod.
“I’ve been working with T [Tyler, The Creator] a lot, man,” he says. “We blocked out the last two weeks and have been working on a lot of music, but I’m wrapping up this album right now, about to direct a few of these videos. And I can tell you, just from doing a couple of music videos, it’s so much energy and preparation and curation. And music videos are only three to four minutes long. You’re doing features, man. That blows my mind. I can’t imagine that amount of stress.”
Rocky and Tyler will cooperate on the upcoming album for the second time. In 2018, the two collaborated on “Potato Salad” and even discussed doing a collaboration project, but it never materialized.

ASAP Rocky Says Rap Has Been Stuck In Adolescence Since Soulja Boy, It Lacks Maturity
Rocky has been working on a new album for quite some time. The project, which was previously known as All Smiles, has yet to be given a release date. With all of the coverage he’s been getting recently, it’s feasible that we’ll have a clearer sense of when the album will be released sooner rather than later. Rocky is not only working on his upcoming album, but he has also begun the process of raising his newborn kid with his girlfriend Rihanna. Rocky gently touched on his sentiments about being a parent when Carmichael questioned whether he was worried about fatherhood.
Earlier this year, the duo contributed to NIGO’s comeback album “I Know Nigo“. The project featured their solo collabs “Come On, Let’s Go” and “Arya“, along with a 2019 freestyle “Lost and Found” featuring both of them.
