Given that Bronson utilised it for his most recent album, the title should ring a bell. We’re genuinely shocked the rapper didn’t include a “Mr. Wonderful” tune, but that’s beside the point. What you need to know is that Bronson comes in strong over Samiyam’s great production, showcasing his ability to flip from hardbody rhymes to crooning like he’s ready to be nominated for an R&B Grammy in 2017. “Mr. Wonderful” follows Bronson’s latest episode of F**k, That’s Delicious on VICELAND, which you can watch here. Bronson is now working on his follow-up to Mr. Wonderful, so expect more music from him in the next year.
Mr. Wonderful, Action Bronson’s new lighthearted album, continues to build Bronson as a food-loving, weed-smoking humorous person. The entire endeavor, beginning with the record cover, has a cartoonish feel to it. The album is chock-full of strange lyrics, demonstrating that Action Bronson’s inventiveness is the best thing he has to give hip hop.
Overall, Action Bronson and his talented crew of producers have created a fantastic 50-minute album. Mr. Wonderful works to remind us that hip hop can definitely be fun, if not hilarious, one week after Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly has everyone neck-deep in socio-political discourse.
