On January 28, 2018, the 60th Annual Grammy Awards were held. The performance was broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on the CBS network. The concert was relocated to January to avoid clashing with the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, as it did in 2010 and 2014. James Corden was back as the host.
While JAY-Z was the most nominated artist on Sunday, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar were the night’s biggest winners. However, with over 80 prizes to give out, there were plenty of winners. Mars and Jay-Z were the front-runners in terms of nominations going into the awards. However, Mars took home the night’s top three awards, earning Album of the Year and Record of the Year for 24k Magic, as well as Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.”
Mars was awarded for six Grammy Awards in total. Jay-Z was utterly shut out in the end, and he returned home empty-handed.
This year at the GRAMMYs, Kendrick Lamar wins big as he took home 5 trophies which includes Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Performance with Rihanna, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video.
