Westside Boogie talks about new music, Kendrick Lamar’s album and more.
Westside Boogie recently announced his next studio album “More Black Superheroes”, and he kicked off the promo campaign as he made a visit to Power 106 for a LA Leakers freestyle Benny The Butcher & J. Cole’s “Johhny P’s Caddy” and Kanye West’s “Drive Slow”.
The Compton rapper now stopped by the No Jumper podcast, for an interview with Adam. Among other topics, the Shady Records rapper also unveiled an exclusive story about Eminem at around the 15:00 minute mark. “He [Eminem] told me a story, I probably shouldn’t tell the story,” says Boogie. “He told me a story how like, he was riding a bike in his old neighbourhood recently. He would go by himself with no security with a mask on and like just ride around his old neighbourhood. He tripped over a curb or something like that. Random Eminem story he probably gonna get mad at me about but I just wanted to expose him. Sometimes I feel like he’s trapped in Celebrity because you’re that huge, he can’t go nowhere.”
“Like a year straight, not displaying,” he said about how much time he spent with Eminem. “We artists, he just like me I don’t like being around people. I think If me and Eminem sit around each other for two hours in a room with nobody else there, it’s probably gonna be no words because I’m gonna be sitting there like alright, he’s gonna be sitting there like alright. He’s tryna to go rap somewhere, I’m trying to go rap somewhere.”
On the part where Eminem told Dr. Dre that the Kendrick Lamar album had left him speechless he said, “Yeah he tweeted Dr. Dre. Eminem’s hilarious on social media. He chooses to tweet Dr.Dre about the Kendrick album, that is so funny to me. I love him.”
