Royce da 5’9″ visits Liftoff show on Power 106 to promote “The Allegory”.
Royce Da 5’9″ has dropped his new album ‘The Allegory‘ and he continues the promo run as he made a visit to Power 106 LA for an interview with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk on the Liftoff show. On the show, they talk about the new album, the features on the album, praises for Joe Budden’s success in podcasting, and much more.
The Book of Ryan, his most recent solo album, was more inwardly focused, a self-aware autobiography that also served as a late-career reckoning. His most recent work, The Allegory, does not rely on the same benevolence. Royce, on the other hand, looks outward in an overt endeavor to persuade his listeners to waking awareness. There are some redeeming qualities in this film, but some of the straight-faced evangelizing are difficult to ignore.
In the middle, the host asked about his session with Eminem for ‘Music To Be Murdered By‘ album to which Royce says, “I’m on 3 songs, and all of them happened different ways you know, while em was recording this particular album, I went to see him a couple of times because I was also working on my stuff too so and then I also went on tour with him prior to him starting the album.”
Royce da 5’9″ continues, “I didn’t had the confidence to play em beats right, but I was in a dressing room and I was playing beats I think I believe I was going through beats or something like that and you know Em has his own compound his own section in the arena, that he never comes out of so like um a lot of the people from like the band and just you know people that are part of the stage production they’re not used to seeing him and certain areas. So he came walking out of compound so he’s walking and everybody’s looking like shit, you know like when there’s a fire drill in school and shit like this would it look like everybody’s just like in a state of like is everything okay yeah as he was walking really fast and he was just like somewhere he was not supposed to be and then he came up in the room and was like yo. I turned around he scared the shit out of me, he was like yo what was that last thing you just played so I went back to it and I played it and he was like yo send me that and just walked out.”
