G Herbo freestyles over “95 South” on Revolt’s Off Top.
After the premiere with Conway The Machine last week, REVOLT is back with the second episode of their latest “Off Top” series where they invite guests for interviews and freestyles. This time, they invite G Herbo, who spits bars over J Cole’s “95 South“, the song which appeared on “The Off Season” album.
Aside from the freestyle, Herb got down with Big Tigger, Rapsody, and DJ Nyla Simone to talk about a variety of topics, including his upcoming collaboration with Lil Bibby. While the two are close, Herbo stated that their previous collaborations were just the result of their having a good time in the studio. G Herbo also talks about his newborn, parenting, Fabolous being his girlfriend Taina’s father, working with Kanye West, new collab with Lil Bibby, mental health, and much more.
Herbo also spoke about drill music and its evolution in New York and the United Kingdom, “When we came out, [drill] had such like a crazy wave,” he said. “It spread like wildfire, and we didn’t really understand what we was doing; we didn’t understand the influence and the impact it had on the rest of the world. So when I seen it, it was a good thing for me. I wanted to embrace it.”
