Usher is ready for a potential Super Bowl Halftime show.
Usher has took his legendary status to next level with his recent performances, and the ‘King Of R&B’ is now manifesting headlining the NFL Super Bowl Halftime show.
The “Confessions” hitmaker recently interacted with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans at his Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace pop-up in Los Angeles, where he gives his thoughts on potentially headlining the halftime show in future.
“I’d be a fool to say no,” he said. “Well, I mean, you know, things line up that we would all hope. You know, one day that moment will happen.”
“I think I have a catalog that obviously speaks for itself, so to be able to celebrate on that day, it’s obviously about football, but everybody really anticipates the performance,” he added. The R&B star then explained that after seeing legends like Michael Jackson and Prince on the Super Bowl stage, it has been “a bucket list” for him.
Usher, known for his hit song “My Boo,” was recently awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music. Fans of the singer are eagerly anticipating the release of the music video for his latest single “GLU,” which marks his directorial debut and features Lori Harvey as the star. “I knew she’d never done a video before, in the formal sense. And that isn’t necessarily her most comfortable place to be. But, so long as she would allow me to be her director, I could have my first with her. You know what I’m saying? And we could go through this together.”
Usher is yet to headline the full Super Bowl stage, but he did make an appearance during Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show in 2011, where he was special guest during Black Eyes Peas performance, as he performed “OMG” with will.i.am.
