Treach talks about Eminem with Fat Joe.
Eminem named his favorite rappers and speculated on how they influenced him in a recent episode of KXNG Crooked’s podcast. Treach from Naughty By Nature was the main topic of this segment of the conversation. Eminem admitted that Treach was a controversial figure, but he was still “rhyming his a** off” and that “back in the day, every rapper was following him.”
The New Jersey rapper, Treach, who’s best known as the lead rapper of the Hip-Hop group Naughty By Nature, recently did a live stream with Fat Joe where he was asked about being listed as one of the favorite rappers by Eminem. “Eminem says that you’re his favorite rapper, what does that feel like, when you got somebody so lyrical, a GOAT like Eminem saying you’re his favorite rapper,” asks Fat Joe.
“I mean it makes me feel like I did my job,” says Trench. “Anybody that I admire, all the fans and the millions of records and the tours worldwide and everything. It’s shows like we did something so when you hear from the caliber, it just humbles you. We kick it back and forth, Eminem for his birthday, my birthdays, we be kicking in it. So It’s like mutual respect. He’s one of the dopest of all times, hands down. And It’s showing how the culture is so great, It expands, It brings everybody together, all races, Hip-Hop brings everybody together.”
“That is my light-skinned brother. I mean, the fact that I am his one of the biggest influences makes me feel like I did my job. Anybody that I admire, all the fans and the millions of records and the tours worldwide and everything. It shows like we did something so when you hear from that caliber, it just humbles you. We kick it back and forth. Eminem for his birthday, my birthdays, we’d be kicking in it. So It is like mutual respect, you feel me? He is one of the dopest of all times, hands down. And It shows how the culture is so great. It brings everybody together. All races. Hip-Hop brings everybody together. So that is my bro-bro. I love Em.”
“When one of the greatest out there, Eminem, is giving you homage, it makes you feel like what you were doing was worth it. Not just to your cause, not just your clique, but to hip-hop as a whole. When somebody comes and gives you props like that, and they’re selling billions of records all over the world for decades, and they came under you and was inspired by you? That makes you feel blessed and appreciated.”
Earlier this year, Eminem appeared on KXNG Crooked’s podcast where he revealed that he wanted to quit rap because he will be never as good as Treach. “He was getting on f**king song and smoking everybody. When I heard “Yoke the Joker” my heart sank,” said Eminem. “My heart sank, ’cause I was like, I’ll never be the same as good. I might as well quit. I didn’t write a rhyme for the entire summer.”
After that, the Detroit rapper also performed his favorite Treach Verse:
“All fuzzy, dirty, dizzy, does he
Get the things he needs? Remember how blistery?
You ain’t ready for the Freddy of rap
You can’t kill me, I step into your dreams, you feel me
Slicin’ your life away, just like I might today
I eat you the psycho way, I’m ripping sh*t right away.”
Treach stunned fans in May 2013 when he stated that Vin Rock had been “fired” from the band for not putting in the same level of effort as himself and member DJ Kay Gee. Treach said at the time that he and Vinnie hadn’t spoken in over two years. Treach stated in April 2015 that he and Vinnie had addressed their differences, but that their relationship is now entirely “business.” “You have teammates, and they may not feel each other even if they are on the same team. You’re going out to win, at the end of the day.”
Recently Treach confessed to Shade45’s DJ Lord Sear that he wants to connect with his biggest fan, Eminem. The famous Naughty by Nature MC is working on his solo project and is adamant about getting Eminem to appear on it.
“I’m actually working on my first solo album ever, just to see if I can do it, just to say “I did it”. Eminem keeps shouting me out, that’s my light-skinned twin. I’m doing a solo album, but I ain’t doing it unless he put it out. He shows me the most love, You know, I’m never on those if you see the top 10, I’m nowhere near, but I’m his number one. And he’s one of the greatest to me. We’ve never worked together. So imagine them fireworks. He already knows. I told him. He calls me out, now I’m calling him out. Just to pleasure working with him. Even ain’t gotta be a whole project, but we gotta do it.”
Slim Shady put Treach to the roster only a day before the 50th birthday of the Naughty By Nature vet. Simultaneously, he promoted Naughty By Nature’s track “Craziest” off their 1995 album Poverty’s Paradise. “Happy b day 2 @triggertreach,” he tweeted. “1 of the greatest rappers of all time!!..I’m still tryin 2 catch up 2 the greatness of the last vs on ‘Craziest.’”
Now in a new interview, Treach stated that he wants Eminem to hear his new album before anyone else. “When Eminem shouts me out, man, it’s nothing but love,” he said. “He said, like, I almost made him stop rapping when he heard me — when I heard Eminem, I almost stopped rapping. I’m like, ‘This guy right here, you cannot top nothing he’s saying right now.’
He continued, “It’s not ’cause he a white boy that he getting the accolades, he getting anything else — he’s one of the dopest MCs to touch the mic ever in history, and if you got a problem with it, say it so he can chew your a-s out the f–kin frame.”
“Em, you know what, I’m working on a solo album and I ain’t takin’ it to nobody but you. So you got it out there in the universe. Come see me — love you.”
