Snoop Dogg rants about Streaming, AI and more.
Snoop Dogg is the one who always speaks his mind no matter what, and the same thing happened in his recent appearance at the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference. The Death Row mogul was one of the guest speaker at the event, which was about “the best minds in the world to tackle its most urgent challenges.”
During the conversation, the Long Beach legend was asked about the streaming platforms, which made him goes off with a rant. “[Streaming is] exciting but streaming gotta get their sh*t together,” he said. “Because I don’t understand how the f**k you get paid off that sh*t. Can somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a billion dollars? That sh*t don’t make sense to me. I don’t know who the f**k running the steaming industry, whether you in here or not.”

“But ni**a, you need to give us some information on how the f**k to track this money down,” he added. “Because one plus one ain’t adding up to two … That’s the main gripe with a lot of us artists. We do major numbers with streams but it don’t add up to the money. Where the f**k is the money?”

At this stage of his career, Snoop Dogg is still giving us music more than ever. He previously revealed why he’s still working hard and what keeps him motivated. “I hate losing. I love to win and I’m a sore loser,” he said. “If I ain’t winning, I’m losing. There ain’t no in-between. So if working, if I’m hopping and bopping, I’m with it. You know, it’s beautiful sometimes to sit back and be in the studio working on a song, then a commercial come on, and I’m on the commercial. And then walk out the hallway and then hear me on the radio.”
“That’s work. It don’t make me want to say, ‘Let’s go on vacation. I’m doing well.’ It makes me want to say, ‘I need more. I’m hungry. I want more,’” he added.
