Snoop Dogg Shades Lil Wayne Over Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl Hate

Snoop Dogg weighs in on hate for Kendrick Lamar’s headlining Super Bowl.

Snoop Dogg also addresses the controversy following the announcement of Kendrick Lamar headlining Super Bowl halftime show 2025 in New Orleans. In a new interview on Drink Champs along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg seemingly criticizes Lil Wayne for forwarding hate towards K. Dot.

“What we need to think about is that before JAY-Z got control of the Super Bowl, wasn’t no ni–as performing,” he said. “He’s creating a wave of artists that have an opportunity to perform. If you’re a great artist, your time will come.”

“I was never crying about it or mad about it. When Dr. Dre called me and asked me to get his back, I was there for him. But I didn’t feel like I was supposed to be there or in demand to be there,” he added about headlining the event in 2022 along with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.

“This is a big event – people look at everything when they pick the person to perform. You should just be honored that Hip Hop is being able to be seen on that platform, for all of us, and not hate on the next man, but be happy.”

Just recently, Kendrick also rapped about the situation on his new album GNX. “I used to bump Tha Carter 3, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hardwork let Lil Wayne down.” “Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these ni–as agitated I’m just glad it’s on they faces,” he raps on the song “wacced out murals”.

Lil Wayne then seemingly threatened Lamar. “Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love,” he wrote on his X.
