Snoop Dogg was once on the verge to join US Armed Forces.
Snoop Dogg is one of the most successful rappers in hip-hop, but the Long Beach legend could’ve been in the Military if it’s not for his love for rap. On Memorial Day on Monday, the rapper took to his social media to show respect for the troops and explained how he almost joined the US Air Force before his music career.
“1989, man,” he said. “We were finna graduate from high school, right? So we went down to the registration office downtown at Long Beach. Me, Duke and a couple other homies. So we’re in there filling out the paperwork and I’m looking at all the questions that they asking me and tryna decide, ‘Do I really wanna go through with this Air Force thing?’”
