Slipknot’s Frontman Corey Taylor would still love to collaborate with Eminem.
In a recent interview with Sweden’s RockSverige, Slipknot and Stone Sour’s frontman Corey Taylor talks a lot of stuff including solo projects, new music, and also reveals that he would still love to work with Eminem and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor.
On asking about whether there is anyone left in his list of people that he would like to work with, Corey Taylor reveals about his two dream collaborations. “Yeah. I mean, there’s a lot of people.” Corey Taylor said, “Everybody from Trent Reznor, I would love to work with Trent – to.. I was just thinking about this the other day… I would love to do something with Eminem. I would love to trade some stuff back and forth with him, because I love the way he writes and the way he flows and the attitude, you know, the emotion that’s in it. And I’m very, very attracted to that. And I would love to do something where we kind of go back and forth. Will it ever happen? probably not. But, you know, it’s still a dream. I never thought I’d get to work with Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), so you just never know.”
Taylor went on to mention his recent involvement in the supergroup Teenage Time Killers, which included Grohl, Nick Oliveri of Queens of the Stone Age, and Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio.
On whether or not he’ll keep the musical ideas that don’t fit in with SLIPKNOT or STONE SOUR: “Yeah. Well, I’m not really sure. I’ve been getting questions about solo stuff forever. But, you know, it’s a good problem to have. But, at the same time, I’m in two fantastic bands. Why would I ever…? Unless I wanted to get super greedy, why would I try to split off and do something else. I’m very fulfilled by the music that I get to make with both bands. Is there a solo album in me? Yes. But it’s not gonna be for, like, a few more years.”
Taylor has stated that the band is aiming to stay “five steps ahead of the game” and that Slipknot’s upcoming album will be their take on The Beatles’ “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” which will be a double album with a companion film.
