Royce Da 5’9 talks Slaughterhouse issues, Eminem and more in a new interview.
Royce Da 5’9 was the latest guest on the Nothing Beats Experience podcast, where the rapper talked about recent issues with other Slaughterhouse members Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked. The host also asked him about another PRhyme album with DJ Premier, and a long awaited sequel to Bad Meets Evil project with Eminem.
“I can’t say that, I can speak for Preme, I don’t speak for Marshall Mathers, but I am open to it [Another Bad Meets Evil Album], i’ll say that,” he says. “I haven’t seen him the whole pandemic. I just talked to him, we haven’t seen each other. I’m due to see him soon, I’ll probably see him within the next couple weeks. I just wanna see him, I want to hug him. And then I think… he’s always working on sh*t, So I wanna hear whatever it is he’s working on. If he’s doing the album like whatever I don’t know what the f**k he’s doing. I wanna hear whatever that is.”
He continues, “He means everything to me [Laughs], I’m just kidding. I mean he put me in the business and he played an integral role in my sobriety. He’s just an important person in my life man, he’s just a dope a*s dude. I value his friendship. I kind of feels like that about all my friend to be honest.”
Nickle Nine gave a fictional, anecdotal account about Slaughterhouse, the four-man Hip Hop trio he was a part of alongside Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and KXNG Crooked. “You have 25% ownership/equity in a building,” Royce Da 5’9 wrote on Instagram. “Let’s say an apartment building… You built this building with your 3 partners, brick by brick.. It’s worth millions.. Suddenly, the value drops because it needs renovations etc .. You and your partners have been talking about when and how this work is gonna get done.. Y’all just need to agree on plan of attack.” As he continued on in the length caption, Royce Da 5’9 introduced a conflict of interest that would essentially test his loyalty in exchange for essentially thirty pieces of silver. “Meanwhile: You and just one of the other partners receive an offer 2 build another building together but with just the 2 of you,” he said. “Minus your other 2 partners… Yes… There’s a check involved.. BUT… Just One Catch: You have to burn down the building you already have without informing your other 2 partners in order to do so.” Royce Da 5’9 ended by posing a rhetorical question to his followers, which naturally, he answered on his own. “Would you do it?” he wrote. “Didn’t think so… Me either.”
