Pusha T calls Kanye West’s controversy “disappointing”.
Pusha T linked up with Los Angeles Times for a new interview, where he talked about his most recent album “It’s Almost Dry” which earned him his first Billboard 200 #1 debut. During the conversation, the rapper was asked about Kanye West’s recent controversies and anti-semitic comments.
“It’s definitely affected me,” he said. “It’s been disappointing. As a Black man in America, there is no room for bigotry or hate speech. So yeah. It’s been very disappointing, let’s talk straight.”
The Daytona rapper also talked about working with Ye over the years. “Writing and recording with Ye is a very special thing for me,” he said. “We actually have a lot of the same taste, we love just barred-out rap. He would tell me things like, “Man, you just be the extreme version of yourself. And I’m gonna be the extreme version of myself.”
Kanye West Loses Billionaire Status As Adidas Ends Partnership Over Anti-Semitic Remarks
He continued, “Creatively, Ye has meant freedom to me. A lot of times, people would try to get me to change certain things about my process, change certain things about me lyrically, change certain things about the content. He never has been like that. He always saw me for who I was and knew how to take it to the next level.”
Push and West have worked together on personal and commercial projects together for a long time with consistently excellent outcomes. Ye provided produced for It’s Almost Dry, which is presently competing for Best Rap Album at the GRAMMYs.
Kanye West has alienated many people after two months of anti-Semitic rants and admissions about earlier unethical behaviour and adoration for Adolf Hitler. Several firms have severed relations with the artist due to his hate speech, the most notable being Adidas, which ended its collaboration with Ye on October 25.
