Nick Cannon talks about his beef with Eminem on Fat Joe Show.
Nick Cannon recently did an IG live conversation with Fat Joe where he was about his longtime beef with the Detroit rapper Eminem. “You got into that Rap beef with Eminem, he dissed you on my song (Lord Above), they broke it down for me and I didn’t even know. So some people who love Eminem, hit me up, and I’m like Nick Cannon, that’s my man, and Em they cool. What is the beef with Eminem,” asks Fat Joe.
“I say this in my Radio show, I’ve always been an Eminem fan,” says Nick Cannon. “Em’s somebody that is super skilled, he’s good for the culture but as a Man, I don’t know what he and my ex-wife (Mariah Carey) had, that was none of my business, that was before me, we got married in 2008. I didn’t know they had interaction, but she was telling me that Em was super disrespectful. And I was like alright, as a husband, I gotta protect my wife at any cost. But we didn’t think about it and all of a sudden, Eminem came out with a certain crazy record (The Warning), where he blatantly disrespecting, using terms that we don’t stand for. You start calling my wife names, wh**e, C**t, all of this craziness, then you gotta see me, we gotta talk about this, as a man to man, but he didn’t want nothing of it.”
The beef between Eminem and Cannon began with Em’s 2009 song “Bagpipes From Bagdad,” in which he made disparaging remarks about Cannon and his ex-wife Mariah Carey. On Joe’s hit “Lord Above,” Slim Shady took aim at Cannon, and the two traded barbs for the rest of the year.
But Cannon wants to squash the beef. Cannon continued by saying that he has spoken with Shady’s close pal Royce and that he has been ‘tryna really get it poppin‘. Both of them, according to the rapper, need to have a chat. Fat Joe, who was hosting the interview, has also stepped forward and offered them an amicable resolution to their feud. Fat Joe aspires to be the ‘big guy’ between the two and assist with their reunion. However, it appears to be a long shot, given Em’ has previously indicated little interest in reconciling with Cannon.
“One day, hopefully, dude and I will get an opportunity to sit down ’cause like I said, I do respect his ability,” he told Fat Joe at the time. “If you can do it, man. I been trying to get… I done talked to Royce [5’9”], we trying to really get it popping, ’cause I think at the end, two men need to have that conversation.”
