David Quinn listens to Eminem before games.
Eminem’s music has always been in sports person’s playlists to get motivated and pumped up. Now, New York Rangers coach David Quinn also revealed that Eminem is his first choice to listen before games to get fired up.
David Quinn is the New York Rangers’ head coach, but more crucially for the sake of this narrative, he is 53 years old. He’s far from “old,” but you probably don’t think of Eminem when you think of music he listens to get pumped up before a game. In fact, Eminem would be the public enemy number one for a lot of David Quinn’s generation — he even raps about it.
Quinn identified the bleach blonde Detroit rapper as his source of enthusiasm before games in an interview with Michelle Gingras and Steve Valiquette, much to the amazement of the two other call participants.
“You know who gets me fired up? Eminem,” says David in an interview with Michelle Gingras and Steve Valiquette on the New York Rangers’ Twitter account. “I’m telling you. That guy is as talented an artist as there has ever been.”
He also said that he doesn’t have a particular favorite song, he just loves Eminem’s whole music catalog. “I just love his passion, He gets me pretty would up.”
