Mustard reflects on Kendrick Lamar’s headlining Super Bowl 2025 Halftime show.
Mustard is excited for Kendrick Lamar headlining the halftime show at Super Bowl 2025, and he might shed a tear if the rapper went on to perform “Not Like Us” at the event. In an interview with Billboard, the producer reflects on the possibility of K. Dot performing their hit Drake diss “Not Like Us” at the event.
“I definitely can’t wait to watch the Super Bowl, man. Can’t wait,” he said. “This year’s going to be pretty special. I might shed a tear [if he performs ‘Not Like Us.’] I am grateful for him to perform it on stage. If he performs it on stage by himself and doesn’t call me, I wouldn’t give a sh-t. Just perform it.”
“Don’t get me wrong… call me. If you want me, I’ll slide. But I’ll be there regardless going crazy, acting like I’m on stage. If I’m in a box, they might show me on TV from how crazy [I’ll be going]. I might stand on a chair. They might show me on the TV like, ‘He’s going berserk!’”
The song “Not Like Us” was released in May during beef battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The song debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and earned Mustard his first #1 hit. “Sometimes you really gotta pop out and show ni–as!!!! To think . . . They really fronted on me and acted like I’m not who I am ! I’m thankful but not surprised; I never lost sight and stayed down. With my back against the wall is where I thrive. Summer started last week according to me!! See ya sooner than you think! cc: @kendricklamar city back up !!!,” wrote Mustard at the time.
