Mary J. Blige is okay with not being paid for the Super Bowl halftime show performance.
Mary J. Blige is heading to Inglewood, California for a grand hip-hop spectacle as she will join Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg for the performance at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. It’s known that NFL no longer pays the performers for yearly halftime shows, and Dr. Dre and others are spending their own money for the event.
Mary J. Blige is okay with not getting paid for the performance, as she believes the exposure that Super Bowl gives is more than anything. Last night, she capitalize on the hype with her first album in 5 years, titled “Good Morning Gorgeous“.
The Queen of hip-hop soul recently sat down on The Cruz Show, where she was asked about not getting a single penny for the big event. The Bronx responds with a famous quote from her fellow performer Eminem. “Listen, you gonna be paid for the rest of your life off of this,” said the iconic singer. “They don’t have to pay me. But if it was payin’ it would be a lot of money. But I’m good. This is major. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Eminem says that in ‘Lose Yourself,’ this is the opportunity of a lifetime. You gotta ‘Lose Yourself.'”
