Eminem and Lil Wayne chops it up on Young Money Radio.
Just hours before the program aired, Wayne announced that Em would be joining the cast. The renowned rappers who have worked over the years have emerged from quarantine to discuss their mutual rivalry, creative methods, and what they’ve been listening to.
After an announcement earlier today, Eminem made an appearance on Young Money Radio for a conversation with Lil Wayne. In the new episode, they talked about The Last Dance, the quarantine days, rappers they like, ‘Mona Lisa’ featuring Kendrick Lamar, making new music, the new generation of hip-hop, bringing back Ken Kaniff, and more.
After exchanging a few compliments, Weezy and Em mentioned Joyner Lucas, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Big Sean, and Killer Mike, as well as RJ Pain, YBN Cordae, and Griselda, as some of their favorite musicians.
Em claimed that he’s been spending his days “writing and recording” under quarantine. Weezy said that he’s been in the studio as well, adding that he’s been listening to new music for ideas. “I try to listen to the new music and I can get a little buzz and go [in the studio] and kill something, but I still try to go off my regular procedure, and that’s just my natural inspiration.”
“Same thing,” Em replied. “When we first start out it’s a blank canvas. We paint on that s**t until every area is full. When you’ve made so many songs about everything it gets a little tricky…You probably write all the time, and I do to.” Tunechi confessed to Googling his own lyrics so that he doesn’t repeat them. “If you go on my Google history and press ‘L’ the first thing that [comes] up is ‘Lil Wayne lyrics.’ I literally have to Google my lyrics to make sure I didn’t say stuff before!”
Em revealed that he’s been spending his days in quarantine “writing and recording.” Weezy admitted he’s been in the studio too and has been listening to new music for inspiration. “I try to listen to the new music and I can get a little buzz and go [in the studio] and kill something, but I still try to go off my regular procedure, and that’s just my natural inspiration.”
