Missy Elliott Responds to Lil Wayne’s Top 5 Rappers of All Time.
The Top 5 dead or living debate seems to be constantly brought up in the Hip Hop community.
Lil Wayne appeared on the most recent edition of Nick Wright’s What’s Wright? Weezy was asked to identify his Top 5 rappers of all-time on the With Nick Wright podcast on Thursday (May 5), among many other things.
“For me, it’s always going to be first, Missy Elliott,” he said. “She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done. “JAY-Z is the best ever to speak. Biggie, obviously. Then I have the whole Goodie Mob. Then I have UGK.”

Missy Elliott took notice of Wayne’s recent compliment and wanted to ensure to thank him on Twitter on Thursday.
“Whenever @LilTunechi says my name in his interviews twitter don’t have enough space for me tosay my GRATEFULNESS because he is a LEGEND himself who birthed many emcees after him& as a man to acknowledge me as a big influence 4 him I send you love WAYNE,” she wrote.
“Another reason this warms my heart is because I’ve seen many times @LilTunechi has said my name over & over for years no matter who the interviewers are he has never been hesitant to say me as a female & for that I am forever GRATEFUL.”
