Who Is KRSNA?
KR$NA, real name Krishna Kaul, is an Indian rapper based in Gurugram, Delhi NCR. The rapper formerly goes by the name Young Prozpekt when he first emerged in the desi hip-hop scene in the mid-2000s. He's a partner in the Indian hip-hop label Kalamkaar, along with rapper Raftaar. Krsna has worked with international artists like Royce da 5'9", KXNG Crooked, Hit-Rez and more.
“Hey $ , people often complain about your lack of versatility. What is your response to that?,” a fan asks. “Burning question so I’m going to answer this pretty straight. Indian hip hop fans tend to have the VERY DESI “aur variety dikhao” mentality. I’m good at this sh*t, it’s my lane. Just like Stan has his lane, Divine has his lane, Talha has his lane. The whole point of having multiple artists is that you can satisfy your palette by listening to different artists at different times to suite your mood. I can’t be a one stop shop for everything. Nobody can. It’s the jack of all trades and master of none syndrome. I used to listen to Jadakiss and Lloyd banks for a particular reason and I can guarantee no one ever thought “sh*t, I wish they made some emotional VIBEY tracks as well”,” he wrote. “I am not shutting down opinions or saying I won’t ever make songs outside of what I do now but I feel like there is unfair pressure to prove yourself outside of what you do well in India. It’s like saying Kohli needs to start bowling to prove his worth. I don’t know.”
