Kodak Black talks about his relationship with Kendrick Lamar.
Kodak Black was one of the artists who appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers“, and he assisted on multiple tracks, including the single “Silent Hill”. The Florida rapper now reflects on his relationship with Kendrick Lamar in a conversation with Speedy Morman.
“Me and Kendrick, we got a lot of little things in common people probably don’t understand,” he said. “Both of us, we Geminis, both of us are Hebrew Israelite. He got a different perception of me. He ain’t cap, when he say we gon’ do something, we do it. Kendrick from the streets for real, too. That boy, I got a lotta love for him.”

He went on to say that K-Dot is the sort of musician that is always there for his associates and that Black is grateful that the Compton emcee put his faith in him. “He put me on game. He genuinely want to see a ni**a win, for sure,” said Kodak. “He could have just did the song and it never came out, but he went as far as having me speak on the intros, the interludes, and all this other stuff. Having me do a poem on there, he already know where my intellect go.” Apparently, Lamar told Kodak that he just wanted him to get in the booth and ‘talk your sh*t.’ He trusted me and I appreciate him for trusting me.”
The song “Silent Hill,” which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, has a guest verse by Kodak Black. Additionally, he made uncredited cameos on “Mirror,” “Rich (Interlude),” and “Worldwide Steppers.”
Kodak Black appeared as a special guest at Kendrick Lamar’s headline performance at Rolling Loud Miami on July 24. Kendrick Lamar is now on a world tour in support of “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” After Kodak’s individual performance earlier in the evening, the couple had their first joint performance of “Silent Hill.”
