Kid Rock Opens Up About Eminem Friendship Despite Political Differences.
Detroit music stars Kid Rock and Trick Trick recently spoke about Eminem during an appearance on the No Fly Zone podcast. The podcast features talks on politics, friendship, and how different beliefs have never damaged their long-standing relationship with the rap legend.
Over the years, Kid Rock and Eminem have publicly supported different political views, which has led many fans to wonder if that created any tension between them. During the interview, Kid Rock made it clear that politics has never gotten in the way of their friendship.
The discussion began when Trick Trick talked about criticism surrounding artists performing at political events. He explained that he doesn’t judge musicians for accepting those opportunities and joked that he would have happily taken the money himself.
Trick Trick said: “Somebody asked me, ‘How do you feel about Eminem performing for Kamala Harris?’ I said, if they would have gave me $1.3 million dollars, I’d do my whole motherf–king show. Matter of fact, they could have just gave me $0.3 million.”
His comments drew laughs during the interview and highlighted his belief that artists should not be attacked for taking major performance opportunities.
Rock then shared his own thoughts on Em and explained that mutual respect has always come before politics. According to Kid Rock, he recently spoke with Eminem’s camp and was reminded that their friendship remains strong despite having different opinions on certain issues.
He explained that people often focus too much on political disagreements while ignoring the many things friends have in common.
Kid Rock said: “Look, me and Marshall spoke a year ago at a Pistons game, maybe it was me and Paul, can’t remember. We talked about politics and just dapped up and we just don’t let politics ever divide us. We are cool no matter what. You have your beliefs, I have mine. That’s alright. There’s a bunch more stuff we agree on and we disagree on and that’s it. It should be that simple.”
The comments quickly gained attention online, with many fans praising the message of respecting different viewpoints without ending friendships.
