Joe Budden reacts to Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s new track “Bongos”.
Cardi B made her return to music as she reunited with Megan Thee Stallion for the new single titled “Bongos“. The song arrived with a music video, which featured a lot of NSFW scenes. Joe Budden also reacted to the song, as he gave harsh criticism to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s Bongos.
“The hook is not hookin’ for me. There’s nothin’ in it to make it stay, one. And two… this commercialized ratchet has passed, it’s ghetto ratchet time,” he said during his podcast. “And neither one of them are ghetto ratchet on this song. We need a “Bodak Yellow” now. This sounds like two women who can’t make a song.”
“Don’t play with me like that because y’all know I f–k with Cardi,” he added later in the podcast. “But I stand in what I said about the song.” “TMZ and along with a number of other outlets and publications did, like y’all always do, post my opinions and put it on the assembly belt,” he said.
Cardi B also addressed Budden comments and said: “I just feel like, it’s like he has a issue with me. And it was beyond the critique of ‘Bongos.'”
The track also received mixed reactions on the internet. Bongos is a follow-up to Cardi and Megan’s previous smash Hit “WAP” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“I wonder how people are gonna react to this vibe because they’re really like expecting ‘WAP,’ like, ‘oh, here they go again talking this and that,’” Cardi told Billboard about the collab. “We are talking a little, you know, about some p—y, but not like ‘WAP’ type of stuff.” “It’s a different theme and the video is like a whole complete different type of theme,” she added. “We put in our sweat and everything,” she said. “It’s like on some ‘bi–h, you jump, I jump… if you wit it, I I wit it. We’re gonna do it.’ We worked so hard on the music video. You’re gonna see… that’s thought put into that.”
