JAY-Z praised Vince Staples’ latest album “Ramona Park Broke My Heart”.
Vince Staples recently made an appearance on Rap Radar Podcast for an interview with B. Dot and Elliott Wilson, where it was revealed that JAY-Z saluted Staples’ most recent project “Ramona Park Broke My Heart“.
Brian “B. Dot” Miller revealed that Hov told him about Staples’ project while calling him one of the creative emcees. “To be honest with you, full disclosure,” B. Dot said. “JAY-Z was the one who told me and put me on to your album. [He] said it was ‘beautiful.’ And he was like calling you one of the smartest, most creative rappers out there in the game right now.”
“If I’m impartial to if people like it, I’m for sure impartial if you don’t like it. I feel like everyone’s entitled to their opinion,” responds Vince. “Once you put something out into the universe and you selling something, it’s okay for people to say if they like it or don’t like it.
He continued, “That’s not really why I make music. I don’t really care how nobody feel about nothing, to be 100 percent honest. I appreciate them listening and that’s as far as it goes like how people feel.”
Vince Staples’ fifth studio album was released last year, with guest appearances from Mustard, Ty Dolla Sign and Lil Baby.
In April 2022, Vince Staples released his album “Ramona Park Broke My Heart” less than a year after dropping his self-titled album produced by Kenny Beats. Staples had been working on both albums simultaneously, but had to prioritize completing his self-titled LP after he ran out of studio funds from his label for “Ramona Park”. At 29 years old, Staples has recently made the move from Def Jam to Motown and Blacksmith Records.
