JAY-Z Sabotaged Roc-A-Fella Artists In Fear They Would Surpass Him, Claims TK Kirkland

JAY-Z reportedly hindered Beanie Sigel’s career at Roc-A-Fella.

TK Kirkland was the recent guest on The Art Of Dialogue podcast, where the comedian/actor claimed that JAY-Z intentionally sabotaged Roc-A-Fella artists in fear they would surpass him, and one such example was Beanie Sigel.

“Beanie Sigel was the sh*t, ni**a. They would only let Beanie Sigel sell so many records,” claims Kirkland. “This came from an executive at Roc-A-Fella cus I knew everybody. And they would only let Beanie sell so many records and that was it. They wouldn’t push it no more.”

“You couldn’t be bigger than JAY-Z on JAY-Z’s label. You couldn’t be bigger than JAY-Z. You couldn’t sell more records than JAY-Z. But all you had to do was listen to Beanie Sigel sh*t. And it’s no hate to nobody. JAY-Z, you still my dog.”

Kirkland received criticism from the fans under the comment session of his interview. “Don’t believe it Beans never let the streets go that was always his downfall,” a fan wrote. “Jay pushed Beans more than he did Bleek, that’s saying somethin’. I’m not listening to a ni**a who can’t pronounce the name of the ni**a he talkin bout.” “So he pushed him more than any other Roc artist at that time , gave him a label , & clothing brand & then thought it would be a good idea to sabotage his career,” wrote another.

Beanie Sigel signed to Roc-A-Fela in 1999, and went on to release four albums through the label, including his debut effort “The Truth” in 2000. The rapper then dropped “The Reason” is 2001, “The B. Coming” in 2005, and “The Solution” in 2007.
