With Howard Stern, Machine Gun Kelly discusses his dispute with Eminem, saying, “The Last Thing I Ever Want to Be Is An Angry Legend.”
Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem have been feuding for nearly two years, and MGK appears to have no remorse about how things turned out. When Howard Stern offers Machine Gun Kelly his help in settling his feud with Eminem, the radio personality who created a name for himself through controversy and shock feels generous. During their latest chat, Howard Stern poked MGK’s wounds by first confirming that Eminem was MGK’s personal hero and then asking how much sorrow MGK had experienced after being dissed by his own idol.
MGK recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show for the first time for a new interview where he talked about his beef with the Detroit rapper Eminem. “I know your feud with Eminem, was Eminem a hero to you because the guy’s a great rapper,” says Stern.
“Yeah, for sure“, replies Machine Gun Kelly.
“Does It personally pain you that you have this f**king feud with this guy?” asks Stern.
“I don’t feel any type of way about it,” says MGK. “I mean I’m like asleep on my tour bus and this f**king guy drops an album (Kamikaze) with like three songs consecutively talking about me. What the f**k you think I’m going to do, just f**king roll over and go back to sleep? I said what I said, Respect the fight and that’s it.”
Then Howard Stern went on to say that he would love to squash the beef between the two rappers. “You know what’s sad in this,” says Howard. “You two guys have more in common, his upbringing is completely f**ked up, your upbringing is f**ked up. You two guys, if you got in a room together, I’d say, listen you two, look at the similarities here, drop this f**king thing already. I mean I really, Maybe I’ll do that maybe I’ll get you, two guys, I’ll ambush you with Eminem and we’ll have a whole lovefest, gonna be a beautiful thing and I’ll put it on tv and make a lot of money.”
Given Kelly’s response to the offer, it’s doubtful that an amicable conclusion will ever be reached. Stranger things have happened in the past. Tickets To My Downfall, MGK’s next album, is set to be released on Friday, September 25th. The songs “Bloody Valentine,” “Concert for Aliens,” and “My Ex’s Best Friend” preceded the release of Tickets to My Downfall.
“Tickets to My Downfall” opened at the top of the Billboard 200 all-format albums chart in the United States, selling 126,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. This was his most successful debut to date, double the opening numbers for his last album, Hotel Diablo in 2019, and making it the first rock album to top the chart in well over a year.
After a year and 1 million units sold, the album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
