Grafh shows love to Eminem and Royce 5’9″.
Grafh recently made an appearance on NORE and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs show along with Memphis Bleek to look back on their career in hip-hop. During the podcast, the two also played the Quicktime With Slime game, where they had to pick between two artists or other things. When they were asked to choose between ‘Busta Rhymes or Eminem‘, Grafh picked the Detroit rapper.
“I’mma have to go with…. Damn, Bus my ni–a too though. I’mma go with Em, cause he influenced my style,” says Grafh at around 59:00 minute mark. “I’m combination of like Prodigy, Eminem, Nas, Jada, Royce and Jay-Z. But I love Busta, man.”
“They used to call me Black Eminem for a while,” he said later in the interview. “That’s one of the best compliments to me. I think Em is one of the top ni–as. A lot of my influences were them type of ni–as. Royce and him, both of them ni–as influenced my sh-t. So, that’s a big compliment to me, the Eminem sh-t. I always wanted to do a song with Em. Just one nostalgic sh-t because I look up to him as MC and have to see who get the better verse and we have to go hard. A lot of times when I make a record though, I’m not trying to get the best verse. I’m trying to make the best record but with Em, we gotta get the best verse. With Em, it is a blood sport ni–a. This is personal. Cause that’s a fact, he’s coming to smoke sh-t.”
They also talked about Grafh’s alleged beef with 50 Cent, his ghostwriting for J.Lo, his fight with Busta Rhymes, the importance of lyricism in hip hop, the impact of the Griselda movement, the evolution of their careers and the current state of hip hop.
