Eminem talks about Royce da 5’9″ & The Alchemist’s Grammy Nomination.
On New Year’s Eve, Eminem discussed his new songs on “Music To Be Murdered By” Side B along with Gray Rizzy on Shade 45 Radio. At around the 24:00 minute mark, he was asked about the recent Grammy nominations for his fellow artists, Royce da 5’9″ and The Alchemist.
Gray Rizzy: I just want to know how you’re going to deal with this man because you have two brothers, Royce da 5’9″ and Alchemist, they’ve been nominated for grammy, this is like seeing two of your brothers go for the championship. A. what’s the feeling like and B. I’m not gonna ask you who you rooting for because I know you want both of them to win. But what’s the first thing you’re gonna say to the winner.
Eminem: Give Me It. Give me your Grammy [laughs]. Nah I don’t know man I’m happy that they’re both like, it’s great for me to be able to sit back and watch that because both those guys are so f**king talented and it’s like, you know I’ve been saying that I wish that they would get more shine and I think this is definitely from my point of view, a step in the right direction as far as, you know with the Grammys it seems like they’re at least trying to get it right. I’m happy for both of them and regardless of either one of them if they win they’re still grammy nominated.
When Eminem has anything fresh on the horizon, he continually promotes Alchemist and Royce. Em recently sent out a tweet encouraging his 22.8 million Twitter followers to purchase Alchemist’s latest album, The Food Villain, which Westside Gunn took note of.
The Buffalo MC, who had a distribution agreement with Em’s Shady Records, was irritated by Shady’s and his camp’s lack of support for his album Who Made The Sunshine. He informed Joe Budden shortly after that he had departed Shady and was no longer connected with the label.
