Ed Sheeran talks about the conversation with Eminem over Marvel & Avengers.
Ed Sheeran has been appearing in a lot of interviews, ever since he dropped his comeback single “Bad Habits”, which is rocking the UK charts. Ed Sheeran recently sat down with Apple Music, where he talked about first meeting with Eminem and their mutual love for Marvel. The Detroit Rapper and Sheeran have worked on three joints, “River” from Revival album, “Remember The Name” with 50 Cent, and “Those Kinds Nights” on last year’s “Music To Be Murdered By“. He was asked about the moment he stepped into the studio to make music with the Detroit Rapper.
“Yeah. It was in Detroit, and I was playing a gig in Detroit,” says Ed Sheeran. “And yeah, I arrived, and Em’s got loads of games consoles there. He loves games. I actually bought him a Nintendo 64 with GoldenEye on it as a gift. Yeah. I just stepped in there. Actually, the first time we met, we didn’t make music. I hung out there for about four hours, and we just spoke Marvel and Avengers for about four hours. And then the next time I went back, we made a tune. The first tune we made, I was in Mexico, and his producer flew to Mexico, and I did the hook there and stuff.”
It is a known fact that Eminem is a nerd for the comics and has collaborated with Marvel a few times before. In 2009, Eminem featured on Marvel’s The Punisher issue and also did a collaboration with them during the release of “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in 2013. Recently, Eminem also featured in the comics of the inaugural X-Men Hellfire Gala event, along with his manager Paul Rosenberg.
Sheeran scheduled an intimate concert at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire this week to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his debut album, “+.”
+ topped the UK Albums Chart in its first week of release after selling 102,000 copies. Sheeran commented on his Twitter page after the album reached the top of the charts “Two songs in the top 20 and the No. 1 album! mental! Then, she wrote, “Here’s my THANK YOU for helping my album reach #1! Thank you very much!” I hope you’ll like it “, along with a download link for a free EP. “Fire Alarms,” “She,” and a remix of the single “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” were the three songs on the EP. The album was certified Triple Platinum at the end of 2011, representing sales of over 900,000 copies.
The forthcoming event at the 2000-seat facility is a rare opportunity to see the stadium-filler in a more intimate setting, as well as Sheeran’s first headline performance since the conclusion of his record-breaking “Divide Tour” in August 2019.
