Drake and 21 share details of process behind “Her Loss”.
Drake and 21 Savage recently joined forces on a new collab album “Her Loss“, and the duo continues the promo run with an appearance on SiriusXM radio. During the interview, they reveals that they helped each other write their verses.
“I ain’t gon cap, Drake wrote some of my verses on this album,” said 21 Savage. “These facts. I don’t give a f**k what a ni**a say, Drake, helped me with some of my verses on this album.” Drizzy responded and says that Savage did the same for him: “By the way, you also helped me with sh*t too,” he said with a laugh.
21 Savage has already contributed to the joint project by contributing lyrics to Drake’s songs. The Certified Lover Boy rapper received criticism shortly after the release of the album for a slew of insults he directed towards Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, Megan Thee Stallion, D.R.A.M., and other celebrities.
While working on the project, Savage admitted that he had been completely aware of Drizzy’s verbal darts but simply pushed him to let the word helicopter fly. He made this revelation during a visit on Akademiks’ Off The Record podcast. “When he sent me the songs, I’m pointing out what I heard and I tell him like, ‘Yeah, ni**a. Talk that sh*t,’” 21 said. “You know I’m gassing him. I’m behind him. Whatever he standing on, I’m standing on it, too. So say what you feel, ni**a, ’cause I’m riding.”
