Doja Cat shares details of her forthcoming project.
Doja Cat hasn’t been musically active this year, apart from her contribution to Elvis Movie Soundtrack with the track “Vegas“. She is still one of the most streamed rap artists on the charts and streaming services, thanks to her last year’s hit album “Planet Her“, which received 8 nominations at the Grammys this year.
As she heads into her next era, Doja Cat covers CR Fashion Book Issue 22, where she was asked for some details about her next fourth studio album. “We just have so many ideas and making those ideas consistent is the challenge right now. I can’t really tell much. I just know there’s a lot going on,” she said.
Doja Cat continued, “I’m very into this ’90s German rave kind of vibe right now and it’s really fun. I know that’s kind of the trend at the moment but I loved that stuff as a kid and now that I can express it (obviously, I couldn’t buzz my head and wear a furry bra and have a belly button piercing back then), I’m sort of embracing that. That’s kind of a hint to the album. Rave culture, not house.”
Doja mentioned in other parts of the conversation that she is now constructing a studio in her home and that she likes to work alone rather than in a setting with other folks.
After undergoing her second throat surgical procedure to remove a tonsil in June, the singer put off working on new songs, but fans are anxiously expecting fresh releases once she heals.
