Chris Rock on US Capitol Rioters Treated Differently Than BLM Protesters If Eminem Was Black...

Chris Rock appears on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The Comedian and Actor Chris Rock made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for the promo run of his new Netflix comedy special “Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut“. On the show, he was asked about his reaction to US Capitol rioters treated differently than the BLM protesters.

One of the topics you covered in your Netflix special, is the way Black people are treated by the Police. And when you look at, compare the BLM Protests and how they were treated and how the Troops were brought out to protect the Lincoln Memorial from Black protestors. And there were tanks in the streets of various towns, Including the Capitol of the US. They were shooting tear gas and rubber bullets, and then you see there is this lightweight reaction to Armed Militias. What does that make you think.” asks Stephen Colbert.

Chris Rock responds with a joke about Eminem being black. “For Black Lives Matter they had Apache helicopters and for this, there were food trucks outside,” says Chris Rock. “It was like, they were selling burritos. I am like, what’s going on? We can do this with anything though. You could go, if popcorn was black, they would not sell in the movie theatres. If fruit was black, you would not put whipped cream on it. If Eminem was Black he would be wrapping groceries, you could go on, this never stops.

Rock also mentioned being at the Ed Sullivan Theater for the final episode of “Late Show with David Letterman,” recalling standing backstage with comic legends such as Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Steve Marti.

On Netflix, Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut is now available. Spiral, the ninth entry in the Saw franchise, will be released later this year. The Lionsgate production, which stars Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson and was originally planned to be released last summer, will now be released on May 21.
