Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy roasts Kanye West’s new album “DONDA”.
Kanye West has finally dropped his new album “DONDA” which had the internet explode in reactions and reviews. The album clocks in about nearly 2 hours with 27 tracks and several guest appearances. While the fans are calling it the best project of 2020, some people aren’t quite impressed with the highly anticipated album. In the latest episode of The Breakfast Club, the co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy slams Kanye West’s 10th studio album.
“Kanye is a clown,” says DJ Envy. “He is a clown and a circus. He is a clown and circus, and I’m ashamed of the people around him. Bu, Free, Pusha, Monopoly, he is a clown. And if you don’t get your guy together, like Charlamagne said seven years ago, when he came up here and said, ‘The people around you don’t love you.’ And Kanye, the people around you don’t love you. You are a clown.”
Then Charlamagne Tha God was asked about his opinion on the album, to which he says, “I listened to it yesterday. I don’t know if it’s lackluster or too long, maybe both. Upon first listen, for me, it was kind of lackluster and long. An hour and 48 minutes is nuts. Even without all the part twos on there, it’s just still too long and it gets exhausting. And the music, to me, sounds kind of dated. Album was alright but I wasn’t blown away.”
According to chart data, the project breaks the record as the album to hit #1 in most countries in Apple Music History as it topped Apple Music in around 130 countries on the first day. The album earned around 100 million global streams on Spotify, the second-best ever.
