Cassidy says he will never battle Meek Mill.
Cassidy was a recent guest on Vlad Tv, where the popular battle rapper was asked about going one on one against Meek Mill, following their past beef. Cassidy declined the idea, stating his fellow Philadelphia native is not a battle rapper.
“Salute to Meek, but, he ain’t battle rap,” he said. “Like, maybe he battled back in the day to try to get on, like to try to get people familiar with what he do. There’s a bunch of people that did that. But still, they wouldn’t consider themselves battle rappers.”
He continued, “Maybe that’s the cloth he was cut from back then, but it’s been so much time, and him doing other shit, and on music, and then a different bag, that I’m not even sure if he’s interested in battle rapping. We kinda already had our own little battle, but I’m not interested in battling nobody. Long as the business is right, they could pick whoever I battle.”
During a recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Cassidy was asked to share his favorite punchline rappers, excluding himself. Although he has no interest in battling Meek Mill, he didn’t hesitate to list his top five: Lord Finesse, Big L, Canibus, Big Daddy Kane, and Kool G Rap. Cassidy explained that these rappers were his inspiration and came before him.“I named dudes that kinda came before me, that was my inspiration,” he said.
In a previous interview, Cassidy stated that if someone has to claim the best battle rapper title, they gotta face him, which includes Eminem. “If somebody wants to claim the title, like Eminem or somebody who would have to come back and get actually in the lane, they are out to claim that they are biggest battle rapper because, as at this point right now, it’s me.” he said. He continued, “Nah, I’m a fan of Eminem. I wanna work with him. I ain’t really trying to battle him but I battle anybody. I battled myself before so I battle anyone.”
