B.o.B talks about touring with Eminem and Jay-Z.
B.o.B recently sat down with HipHopDX’s Jeremy Hecht for an interview session where he was asked about opening up for Eminem and Jay-Z at Yankee Stadium on ‘The Home & Home Tour‘ in 2010. “You opened up for Eminem and Jay-Z, the first show ever in the new Yankee Stadium. And I remember you said it was a dream, it was the only way you could describe it. Try to walk me through, you’re walking on stage in front of that many people, with like the greatest of all times, what’s going on in your head at that time.” asks Jeremy.
With a dizzying spectacle worthy of rap’s two biggest stars, Jay-Z and Eminem opened the first performance at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Before the event, a threatening downpour gave way to bright skies, anticipating an evening of highs and lows, missteps and triumphs, and a never-ending barrage of verbal abuse during a once-in-a-lifetime extravaganza featuring some of pop music’s biggest names The two rap titans announced their tour at a Detroit Tigers vs. New York Yankees baseball game, and the response was overwhelming, prompting the duo to raise the number of shows from two to four.
“First of all, I use to perform with a DJ, Drummer, Guitar player, Bass player, Keyboard player, I would play guitar and I would play the piano sometimes. We had three background singers and two dancers, So it was like 11-12 people on the stage. At that time, I had the best band, and to be able to take that and perform and open up before Eminem and Jay-Z, that’s some crazy sh*t bro,” says B.o.B.
