IllaDaProducer talks about creating the “KILLSHOT” Beat.
A couple of months ago Eminem released a blazing track ‘KILLSHOT‘ which was the response to MGK’S Diss track for Eminem ‘Rap Devil‘, a response to Detroit Rapper’s ‘Not Alike‘ which appeared on his latest album ‘Kamikaze‘. Eminem’s diss single “KILLSHOT,” which is a reaction to MGK’s track directed at Eminem, was produced by IllaDaProducer. On Eminem’s album “Kamikaze,” he also co-produced “The Ringer.”
The producer of the track IllaDaProducer appeared on the latest episode of Genius’ ‘Deconstructed‘ where he talks about creating the track with Eminem. He revealed that he made the beat originally for English rapper Giggs.
He didn’t use it, thankfully. Illa begins with a piano sample to which he applies effects. The snare drum is next, with further effects used to make it stand out. He closes with some 808 noises before tying it all together with his well-known tag. He also discusses his devotion to Em and how this song was one of the most pivotal times in his career.
