Tim Westwood drops an unheard Eminem and Proof’s freestyle.
Tim Westwood always releases throwback unheard freestyles from a lot of MCs and today he decided to drop another one. Proof, a member of the D12, was shot and died on 8 Mile Road in Detroit after a fight broke out during a game of billiards. But that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about him — far from it.
On this day 10 years ago, Eminem and Mr. Porter dropped the biggest freestyle in the world on Tim Westwood TV, and to celebrate it, he releases a rare never heard before freestyle of Eminem and Proof which was recorded back in 1999 on New York Live show with Westwood and Marley Marl.
Westwood posted a 20-year-old freestyle starring Proof and his “sidekick” Eminem to his Tim Westwood TV YouTube page on Monday (May 27). The two rap kings trade lyrics in between laughter for about seven and a half minutes.
The freestyle was published to commemorate the one-year anniversary of another Slim Shady freestyle, the fan-favorite back-and-forth between Eminem and Mr. Porter, another D12 member. That freestyle first aired on Tim Westwood’s show in 2009, and stans have admired it for years. The new video featuring Proof is from much earlier in Em’s career when he was at the height of his hip-hop enfant terrible abilities.
