Drake freestyle for Link Up TV’s ‘Behind Barz’ Series.
After a mysterious teaser last month, Drake has unveiled his freestyle for Link Up TV which is a part of their ‘Behind Barz‘ series. Drizzy raps over a Grime-influenced instrumental. Drake’s new album ‘Scorpion‘ is out now and it was streamed over one billion times globally in a week, which makes Drake the first artist to do this.
Drake’s performance features some U.K. influences. lingo and perhaps slipping in some shots “They wanna link when they got no chunes/They too worried about selling out shoes,” he says at one point. Of course, it’s possible the intended target is Kanye West and company; Scorpion also had a number of alleged subliminals lobbed at the Yeezy founder. The freestyle’s “I know so much shit that I cannot expose, I keep it inside and I laugh on my own” line may also raise an eyebrow.
On Instagram, the rapper also suggested that Saturday’s OVO Radio broadcast on Beats 1 may include some songs that didn’t make it into Scorpion’s 25-song tracklist.
