Polo G drops a new song “RAPSTAR”.
After recently contributing to Rod Wave’s new album ‘SoulFly‘, Polo G decided to drop some of his own new material as he releases a new single called “RAPSTAR“. The single comes along with an official music video.
“RAPSTAR” comes after the releases of “Epidemic,” “GNF (OKOKOK),” and “Headshot,” a collaboration between Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign that ended up on Tjay’s recent album Destined 2 Win. Polo G released his sophomore album The GOAT last year, which featured 16 songs and features Mustard, Juice WRLD, Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, Mike WiLL Made-It, Lil Baby, and BJ The Chicago Kid. The album was a huge hit, reaching number two on the Billboard 200 after selling 99,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Polo has now received a well-deserved Platinum award for the record.
“Rapstar,” which was released in April 2021, topped the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs list for a whole month until being dethroned in mid-May by J. Cole’s “Interlude.” Polo G has subsequently returned to the Top 100 Songs list with Hall of Fame’s “Gang Gang” starring Lil Wayne, peaking at Number 25.
The accompanying visual for “RAPSTAR,” directed by Arrad, takes us through a series of events in Polo G’s current life. Polo may be seen travelling on a private aircraft, buying BMWs for his group, dealing with paparazzi, accepting a hip hop hall of fame award, and resting on the ground after being stabbed in the back by his love interest, after a brief cameo from a ukelele-wielding Bankz.
Last month, the Chicago rapper dropped his new ‘For My Fans‘ freestyle. Watch the new visual below.
