Kanye West drops a new song ‘Wash Us In The Blood’.
Kanye West returns to the music scene as he teams up with Travis Scott for a brand new single called “Wash Us In The Blood” along with a music video which is directed by cinematographer and director Arthur Jafa. This is first single off his upcoming album “God’s Country” which he announced yesterday.
Travis Scott contributes a few ad-libs and a verse, but it’s Yeezy who goes into ‘SICKO MODE.” ‘Whole life bein’ thugs/No choice, sellin’ drugs,’ he barks over hard rhythms. ‘Genocide, what it does/Slavery, what it does’.
The video for “Wash Us in the Blood” was directed by visual artist Arthur Jafa. The film is mostly a split-screen experience, combining digitally created pictures of Kanye with footage of riots, people dancing, automobiles doughnuting, and scenes from what looks to be Grand Theft Auto V. The video finishes with a zoomed-in shot of Kanye’s daughter North at a Sunday Service practice. Jafa’s film includes Ahmaud Arbery footage and begins with a clip of a police officer berating another during what looks to be a Black Lives Matter demonstration. Kanye is known for working on things until the last minute, even tweaking albums after they’ve been published, and this time it’s to his advantage: More than a few of the memorable images that have sparked our current protest moment can be found in the video.
This past weekend, Ye hit the studio with legendary Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to work on some new material. Watch the new visual below.
